Is my money safe?

Your money is safe within Holvi. Holvi Payment Services Ltd is regulated and licensed to operate across the EU by the Financial Supervisory Authority of Finland (FIN-FSA) as an Authorised Payment Institution. Security is our main responsibility and we will do everything in our power to keep our customer funds safe and secure.

All funds on the payment accounts of Holvi customers are held in segregated client money accounts in European banks. The EU Payment Services Directive and the Payment Institutions Act (Maksulaitoslaki) have clear regulations on how Holvi must segregate and safeguard its customers' money. 

Funds are separated from Holvi's balance sheet so in the unlikely case that Holvi becomes insolvent:

  1. Customers funds will be 100% segregated in client money accounts. Meaning that they are not affected at all by the insolvency since Holvi is not the owner.
  2. Customers will be able to transfer their moneys at all times.
