What is Holvi
Holvi has set out to build the first pan-European financial hub that fully replaces your current bank, and even more. For all of you, Holvi is the easiest way to run your business or project. Holvi accounts have International Bank Account Numbers (IBANs) allowing you to send and receive direct bank transfers, just as you would with traditional bank accounts. Together we will reshape the future of banking and consequently a whole industry. But before that, we would like to share our key information about Holvi with you.
Who are we
We are a Nordic company with Nordic standards. Our home is in Helsinki, Finland and we are authorised and regulated for operations in Europe by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA). How to get started with Holvi
Opening a Holvi account has never been easier. You can do it online, in minutes, whether it is for your full time business, your part-time hobby or your spot-on passion. Our Holvi account can be opened for a business or an association (legal person). Consequently, the funds on your account belong to the legal person registered as the account owner.
The basic requirements for opening an account with us are that you are at least 18 years old and are a resident in an European country.
In order to provide you a reliable and secure service, we will always verify your identity. For this, you may be asked to upload your personal documents, such as passport, or company documents.
Social banking for teams
You can share a Holvi account within your team, friends or other people. You as the account owner exclusively have the right to add or remove people to from your shared account.
How to manage your account
When you register to Holvi you will get a customer profile and your accounts (business and personal) will be accessible through this profile. Security is our number one priority which is why we require you to always log in with your username and password.
You are responsible of managing your Holvi accounts and its transactions. So remember to make sure what you need to report and to which authorities as Holvi won’t do this for you. You are also responsible for following the applicable laws in your country of residence, so no fishy business, okay?
How to make payments
Once you are logged in you can make payment transactions out of Holvi. As a security measure we need you to confirm all your payments separately. Payments in the account usually take from 1 to 3 banking days, depending on the transaction method you have chosen.
You can receive regular bank transfers to your IBAN and other online payments for your business, e.g. card payments and other payment methods. We provide the payment services so you can concentrate on running your store orders, deliveries and customer support.
As a payment institution we are allowed to monitor all Holvi account activities in order to offer you as our customer a secure and reliable service; and establish conditions to manage your account if the law or profile requires to do so.
Value added services
A Holvi account is like a swiss knife, there are many things in a simple package. Due to this you may be asked to accept separate agreements for additional services provided either by us or any third party. All agreements will be served electronically and in a reasonable time.
How to close an account?
Closing your Holvi account is as easy as opening it. Inform us in https://support.holvi.com and we will take care of it. There are no additional or hidden charges for closing the account.
With Holvi there are no opening or monthly fees or hidden contract commitments. We are transparent - what you see is what you get. You can always check for an updated version of our pricing on our website Holvi.com. If any changes apply, you’ll be the first to know. We will contact you electronically with customer letters and updates to keep you informed.
As we are in this together, we know that you will use your Holvi account for the right reasons. To avoid any confusion, here’s what you should not use it for:
- any activities that violate any law or regulation;
- sharing people’s personal information;
- any activity violating applicable laws regarding the sales of alcohol, any tobacco products, or prescription drugs and devices;
- anything violating copyright, trademark, privacy or any other proprietary right under the laws of account owner’s jurisdiction;
- performing any activities on behalf of a legal entity not based within the European Union;
- and activities connected to sales of package travels, package holidays, virtual currencies, products or services related to the Second World War, gambling or services regarded as being of a sexual nature.

How is my personal information used?
Keeping your personal data safe is at the heart of our business. We build all our relationships on trust, transparency and reliability. We respect your right to keep your personal information confidential and will not disclose any information to third-parties without your consent or authorisation, with the few necessary exceptions:
- in case of official authorities requests based on a lawsuit or prosecution;
- with third-party service providers we have contracted for business operations including payment, fraud prevention, validation of user credentials, secure data storage and other similar services;
- with financial institutions, their agents or other related parties that we collaborate with to jointly create and provide you our service;
- and at last, for legal reasons the Holvi shop owner details are publicly available in the online shop so your customers can easily contact you if needed.
