1. Who can order a Holvi card?

In order to order a card your account must meet the following requirements

 

2. Ordering your first Holvi card 

  1. Navigate to Payment cards menu in your account
  2. Click START or Create New if you already have existing cards
  3. Name you card (this is only a "nick name" of your card, it will not be printed to the card). Your Holvi Business MasterCard will have the following information in front: name of Card Holder, name of Business/Association
  4. Then define the restrictions - click NEXT
  5. Pick the cardholder - here you see all verified account administrators - click NEXT
  6. Choose the delivery address - if your home address is not visible here, please add it from the ADD NEW ADDRESS button - click NEXT
  7. Review the order
  8. Make sure to deliver a proof of address documentif your address is unverified
  9. Agree to the terms and that the submitted info is correct
  10. Click CONFIRM AND ORDER.

*If you don't yet have a verified address we ask you for a Proof of address - a utility bill scan (no older than three months) with your name and current residing address on it (personal, not business). It can be a phone bill, electricity bill, tax card, insurance bill or any other official document that has the previously mentioned information. We can send the card only to your current home address.

 

 

 


Your card order will be processed and you should receive your brand new Holvi Business MasterCard within 10 business days.

The Holvi Business MasterCard card displays your business name embossed on the front, right under your cardholder name. Note that only the first 20 characters of your business will appear on the card.

 

 

3. Ordering additional cards

To order more cards, repeat the above process. The fee for extra cards for an account is 5€ per card and is mentioned in pricing.

Every account can have a maximum of three (3) cards per person per company.

If you do not see the choice to order additional cards, please

  1. Open your Cards menu in your account
  2. On the page that opened - click the Back arrow on the top left
  3. You will now see a Create new button that you can use to order a new card.

 

 

4. Expected card delivery

After the card order you should receive your brand new Holvi Business MasterCard within 10 business days.

 

 

5. How to activate the card

To activate your Holvi Business MasterCard card and start using money on your Holvi account everywhere MasterCard cards are accepted, do the following:

    • Login with your Holvi credentials at https://holvi.com/card/activate
    • Enter your card details to activate it and receive your PIN code
    • Sign the signature panel on the back of your card

 

6. How does the card work?

Your Holvi Business MasterCard card is directly linked to your Holvi account, meaning that it will use the funds you have on this account. In order to use your Holvi card please make sure that you have enough positive balance on your Holvi account

All purchases that you have done with your card will be shown in your Holvi account’s feed and card menu. From here you may edit or recategorise each transaction as you wish.

You can manage your card settings from under the Payment Cards menu in your Holvi account. The settings are

  1. Card general info
  2. Configure settings such as ATM use and geographical usage
  3. Block the card usage for now
  4. Review card PIN for 30 seconds
  5. Unlock PIN if it's blocked
  6. Card holder
  7. Usage restrictions summary

7. When using the Holvi card & Holvi's card management

Your Holvi Business MasterCard card is linked directly into your Holvi account, meaning that it will use the funds you have on this account. In order to use your Holvi card please make sure that you have enough positive balance on your Holvi account.

All purchases that you have done with your card will be shown in your Holvi account’s feed and card menu. From here you may edit or recategorise each transaction as you wish.

You can manage your card settings from under the Payment Cards menu in your Holvi account:

All Holvi Business MasterCard cards have their default language set to English. You will notice this when paying in stores or withdrawing money.

I your card payment fails, please wait a bit before trying again. Sometimes failed card payments may show up in your Holvi account with a reserved status. These payments will automatically cancel themselves within 10 business days.

8. Adding receipts and VAT to card payments

Most efficient ways to attach payment receipts is to use Holvi's Mobile App. You may also file a receipt and add VAT into a card payment by navigating to the payment either

  • From under your Payment Cards menu > Transactions > Attach a receipt or click Attachments tab (when looking at a transaction)
  • From under your Payments menu > Select a payment > Attach a receipt or click Attachments tab (when looking at a transaction)

9. Spending and withdrawal limits*

*Note that the last X days limits does not follow calendar months. It is based on the day when you did your first Holvi Business MasterCard transaction or withdrawal.

**Whenever the limit follows last X time, the limit does not follow calendar months. The limit is based on the last time you have used your card during the described time.

Example:

  • Card payment of 2000€, paid on 15.01.2017
  • Based on the last 30 days volume limit, this payment amount frees up on 15.02.2017 and you then have this 2000€ usable in your 30 days volume limit.


Limits for contactless payments 
(when using the Holvi Business MasterCard contactless payment option)

NOTE: In order to check that a contactless card has been delivered to the authorised cardholder, the contactless part of the card will not function until a standard chip and PIN transaction has been executed.

The list of limits for contactless transactions per country is the following:

  • Eurozone in general: €25
  • Finland: €25
  • United Kingdom: £30
  • Spain: No limit (for more than €20 PIN verification is mandatory)
  • France: €20
  • Denmark: DKK 200
  • USA: $25

 

  • Note: at a Finnish ATM you need to select “checking” not “savings” account when doing a withdrawal of funds

 

 

 

10. Online & offline purchases

Online purchases
You may use your Holvi Business MasterCard card for shopping online. If you switched on the online purchases restriction for your card, you can manage it in your Holvi account under your card settings.

At the moment the Holvi Business MasterCard card does not support 3DS authentication (MasterCard SecureCode program) when paying online. This may require you to select that you don't wish to use 3DS when making payments online (this has been noted for example when buying flight tickets).

If the address being used for billing at the merchant where you are using the Holvi card (i.e. if you want to link the card to PayPal) is different than the one configured in Holvi, the transaction may be rejected by the card acceptor. I.e. it may not be possible to link the Holvi card to Paypal if you have your PayPal domicile set to Italy while in Holvi you have your domicile set to Finland.

 

Offline purchases
When you are making payments in an airplane or taxi, sometime the card payment device has no Internet connection and is therefore offline.

Offline purchases are not yet possible with the Holvi Business MasterCard card.

 

 

 

11. Holvi Card & Holvi App

We recommend that you use your Holvi Business MasterCard together with the Holvi app. The app provides you an easy way to add receipts directly to your Holvi account right after the purchase has happened!

12. Holvi card fees & pricing
The order of the first Holvi card is for free, for all other cards a service fee of € 5,- (one-time fee) apply. In total you can have three cards per user per company. The Holvi card is part of the Pro pricing and full details of the service fees can be found here.
