In associations, key roles can change often.
When the treasurer or other person responsible for the association’s financial accounts changes, you must also update the creator of the Holvi account. This ensures that account access, responsibilities, and legal ownership remain with the correct person.
The creator controls the account, and certain settings and features are available only to the creator.
⚠ Important: The new creator will need their own Holvi profile — they cannot take over the old creator’s login. Holvi profiles are personal and belong to the individual, not the association or company.
This guide walks you through the step-by-step process to transfer the creator role smoothly and in line with Holvi’s compliance requirements.
How to change your association’s creator
Step 1: The current creator invites the new creator to the Holvi account
- Log in at Holvi.com.
- Go to Settings > Users > Add new user
- If the new creator already has a Holvi user profile, use the exact same email address and phone number in the invitation.
- The new user must accept the invitation and verify their identity in Holvi.
Step 2: The new creator verifies their identity
- Log in to Holvi and go to Start > Add personal information
- Complete strong identification (e.g. bank ID, electronic ID).
Step 3: Either one submits the required documents
The required documents are:

Up-to-date registry extract (no older than 6 months)

Power of attorney (PoA) if the new creator is not an authorised sole representative (click for more info).
💡 To be valid, your power of attorney document must:
Use Holvi’s official template (click here to open or see attachment at the bottom of this article), and
Be signed by hand or electronically with strong authentication.
📝 How to upload your documents:
The current creator can submit the documents by logging in to Holvi via browser and going to Profile (top right corner) > My businesses > Have your company details changed? > Add.
Alternatively, the new creator can send the documents directly to support@holvi.com.
Step 4: Either one contacts Holvi
Once:
- The new creator is verified; and
- All required documents have been submitted
→ Either the current or new creator can contact our support team to request the transfer of the creator role. We’ll review the documents and complete the change.
When is a power of attorney required?
A power of attorney is only required if the new creator does not have sole signing authority according to the association’s current registry extract.
