If you have an active Holvi credit line, you can instantly move available credit directly into your primary Holvi EUR account. This lets you tap into your credit line to pay for essential business expenses that cards usually can't cover — such as rent, supplier invoices, or subcontractor fees.
How it works: The 2-step process
Using your credit line to pay bills is simple, but it requires a deliberate action. It is not an automatic overdraft.
- Move money: First, you manually transfer funds from your available credit line into your primary Holvi EUR account. The transfer is completely native and instant.
- Pay bills: Once the funds are in your main EUR account balance, you can pay your invoices, SEPA transfers, or bills exactly as you normally would.
⚠️ Important note on card spending: Your Holvi debit card will not automatically draw from your credit line if your main account balance reaches €0. To use your credit line for non-card expenses, you must actively move the funds from your credit account into your current account first.
How to move funds from your credit line
You can initiate a transfer on both Holvi web and the Holvi mobile app using the existing Move Money flow. No separate logins or external providers are required.
Step-by-step instructions:
- Log in to your Holvi account.
- Select Move Money.
- In the "From" source drop-down, select Credit account.
- Enter the amount you wish to transfer (up to your maximum available credit limit).
- Confirm the transfer. The funds will appear in your EUR account balance instantly.
Features and limitations
- Availability: This feature is currently available exclusively to credit-eligible customers in Finland across several plan types (Lite, Flex, Pro, Zen+, Business). Availability is tied directly to your business's individual credit approval, not your monthly Holvi plan.
- Transfer limits: You can transfer any amount up to your approved credit line maximum (up to €5,000 for Sole Traders / Toiminimi, and up to €50,000 for Limited Companies / Oy).
- Currency: Transfers are supported in EUR only. Foreign currency conversions (FX) or direct SWIFT transfers cannot be initiated directly from the credit line.
- Repayment options: Withdrawn funds are repaid according to the repayment term (1 or 12 months, or 3/6 months for some legacy customers) already set on your existing credit agreement — see Pricing and repayment below for details.
Pricing and repayment
- Transfer fee: Each time you transfer funds from your credit line to your current account via Move Money, a fee of 2% of the withdrawn amount is charged.
- Interest: The annual nominal interest rate on your credit line (currently 18% for new customers as of writing; legacy customers may have a different rate) applies to withdrawn amounts, including funds moved via Move Money. This is separate from, and in addition to, the 2% transfer fee.
- Repayment terms: Funds withdrawn via Move Money (plus the 2% fee) are repaid according to the repayment option already set on your credit agreement — either 1 or 12 monthly instalments (legacy customers may also have 3 or 6 months). You don't choose a repayment term per transfer; the existing setting on your account applies automatically to each withdrawal.
- Changing your repayment option: If you'd like to switch your repayment term (e.g. from 1 to 12 months), contact Support — this can't currently be changed directly in the app.
Please check your current pricing schedule in-app for the most up-to-date fee and interest terms before completing a transfer.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can I pay a SEPA invoice directly from my credit line? Not in this phase. To pay an invoice using your credit, you must first use the Move Money flow to transfer the funds to your primary Holvi EUR account, and then pay the invoice from your main balance.
Why did my card payment get declined if I have available credit? Your credit line does not act as a passive overdraft buffer. If your Holvi EUR account balance is €0, your debit card payment will be declined unless you have manually transferred funds from your credit line into your account ahead of time.
How long does the transfer take? Unlike traditional standalone credit providers who manually wire funds to external bank accounts during restricted business hours, Holvi's transfer is 100% native and instant. The funds are available to use the second you confirm the transfer.
Do I need to apply separately for this transfer feature? No. If you already have an active, approved Holvi Credit Line, the option to transfer funds will automatically appear in your Move Money dashboard. If you do not currently have credit activated, you will need to apply and go through our standard credit underwriting process first.
How is the withdrawn amount repaid — can I choose 1 or 12 months for each transfer? No — you don't choose a repayment term per transfer. Whatever repayment option is already set on your credit agreement (1 or 12 months, or 3/6 months for some legacy customers) automatically applies to funds withdrawn via Move Money, plus the 2% transfer fee. If you'd like to change your repayment option, contact Support — there is currently no in-app option to do this yourself.
