Our team has received reports of scam phone calls appearing to come from Holvi. As an online banking service, Holvi will never call you asking you for personal information or advise you to download another app to secure your account.
This kind of criminal activity, known as ‘voice phishing’, is on the rise. It's where criminals try to access your sensitive information by pretending to be a trusted organisation – in this case, Holvi.
How these calls sound:
- A Holvi customer receives a call from a number that appears to belong to Holvi. However, it is not really Holvi calling
- When you answer, you may be asked to provide personal data (PIN, passwords or email address), transfer money or download software to secure your account
- The software is malware that allows criminals to access your personal information
What to do if you're called:
- End the phone call immediately – no need to be polite
- Ignore requests to provide personal information, transfer money or download any app or software
- File a report with the police
Have you shared sensitive information?
If you have already downloaded an app or software, delete it now and contact our support team. We take all potential fraud cases very seriously and do everything we can to ensure the security of your finances and personal information.
Please change your passwords and keep a close eye on your account transactions. In case of suspicious transactions, inform our support team immediately via Holvi live chat or email, then report the matter to the police.
