The Creator can invite team members to join their Holvi account. Two people cannot share a login — each user must have their own personal profile. Read more about user roles here.

How to add a user to your Holvi account:
- Log in to your account at Holvi.com.
- Go to Settings > Users.
- Click Invite user in the top right corner.
- Select the role you want to give the new user.
Note: Cardholders cannot change roles later. - Enter the new user's details.
Important: If they already have a Holvi profile, use the exact same email and phone number. - The person will receive an email invite with next steps.
When inviting a cardholder:
- You’ll be notified once they complete their part of the invite (adding their postal address as a last step).
- Once the invitation process is complete, you can issue their card.
Inviting a brand new user
All new users need to create their own Holvi user profile before accessing your account. Each person accessing your Holvi account must have their own login.
Inviting a person with an existing profile in Holvi
Use the exact email and phone number saved in their Holvi profile under Profile > Personal settings, including case sensitivity. Your business’ Holvi account will remain completely separate from any existing Holvi accounts they belong to.
Inviting Cardholders
Cardholders don’t need to verify their identity. Instead, we rely on you—the creator—to vouch for their identity and ensure they understand how to use their card responsibly, including its limitations.
Inviting Editors and Admins
Admins cannot be invited directly. To add an admin, start by inviting them as an editor, then promote them after their account is set up. Note that editors do not have access to cards.
Changing user roles
When inviting someone, you can choose to assign them either the editor or cardholder role.
Keep in mind:
- Cardholders cannot be upgraded to another role at this time.
- Editors can be promoted to admin once they’ve completed their setup and added a second-factor authentication device.

Why is the invite not going through?
The most likely reason for an invitation failing is that the email address or phone number is already linked to another Holvi profile.
Keep these rules in mind:
- The unique pair: A specific email address and phone number combination can only be linked to one active Holvi user at a time.
- Use existing details: If you are inviting someone who already has a Holvi user profile, you must use the exact same details (email and phone number) currently saved in their profile.
- Credentials in use: If the invitee's phone number or email is accidentally linked to someone else's profile, that person must first remove it from their own account to "free it up" for others to use.
Troubleshooting checklist:
- Did you type the email address correctly?
- Is the phone number in the correct format?
- Does the person already have a Holvi account with a different email or number?
💡 Tip: If the person you are inviting is already a Holvi customer, ask them to check their profile settings in Holvi to ensure you’re using the correct contact details for the invite.
