Phishing is a type of fraud where criminals attempt to steal your personal or login details by pretending to be a trusted source – for example, Holvi.
Holvi will never ask for your password, full card number, PIN, or verification codes by email, SMS, or phone.
Phishing usually involves emails, text messages, or fake websites designed to mislead you into entering your personal details. Once you provide your details, fraudsters can use them to access your account and steal your money.
Staying safe online requires awareness and caution. Look out for suspicious messages, double-check websites before entering information, and know Holvi’s communication practices.

How to recognise a phishing attempt
1. Suspicious emails or messages
Phishing messages often contain:
- Urgency or threats: e.g. “Your account will be deleted in 12 hours unless you verify your details.”
- Unexpected links or attachments: Never click or open these without verifying the sender. Hover over links (without clicking) to check the real address.
- Generic greetings: “Dear Customer” instead of using your name.
- Language errors: Poor grammar or unusual wording.
2. Fake websites and apps
Fraudsters create imitation Holvi websites or apps, sometimes even promoting them through search engines to lift them to the top of search results. These sites may look genuine – using Holvi’s logo, colors, and design – but are designed to collect your data.
How to spot Holvi’s official website
Holvi’s pages are always a secure, encrypted web pages. You can identify secure pages by double clicking the URL: if it begins with ‘https://’, that means it’s encrypted.
Official Holvi links:
- Homepage: holvi.com
- Login: login.app.holvi.com
- Support: support.holvi.com
Check carefully before entering details:
- URL: Fake sites may include small errors (e.g. hollvi.com or holvi-login.net).
- Secure connection: Official Holvi sites always use https://.
- Mobile apps: Download Holvi only from the official Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Holvi actively monitors and works with authorities to remove fraudulent websites and apps quickly. If you discover a suspicious site, please report it to us.
How Holvi communicates with you
Holvi does use email to communicate with customers – but with clear limits.
Holvi will never ask you to:
- Provide your password
- Share your full card details (number, expiry, CVV)
- Disclose PIN codes or verification codes
- Confirm personal information due to “system upgrades”
- Act under threat of immediate account deletion with no prior warning.
What we might ask for (in specific cases):
- Additional business information (as part of KYC – Know Your Customer – requirements)
- Updated contact or business details.
If we email you requesting additional information, you can always opt to answer in a document and upload that document to your Holvi account. If you choose to do so, please send us a quick message to let us know, so that we don’t miss it!

Smart and secure online shopping
Fraudsters also target you through fake online stores or package notifications. Here’s how to protect yourself:
- Shop only from trusted retailers.
- Don’t rely on the websites own reviews — check an external source like TrustPilot.
- Beware of fake delivery alerts that request payment details.
- Don’t rush – scammers often pressure you with “limited-time” offers.
- Compare prices – if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
- Read the fine print – check what the discount really applies to.
What to do if you suspect phishing
- Do not click links, open attachments, or enter any details.
- Do not reply to the message.
- Delete the message and report it if possible.
- Contact Holvi support – you can also send us a screenshot for review.
If you already shared your details
Act immediately:
